Goodwill San Antonio’s Electronic Store is offering a FREE Drive-Thru E-Recycling and Data Security Services event as a means to increase awareness about the benefits of proper waste reduction and responsible, socially sustainable electronics recycling.

In recognition of Texas Recycles Day on November 15, Goodwill San Antonio’s Electronic Store is offering a one-day FREE Drive-Thru E-Recycling and Data Security Services event as a means to increase awareness about the benefits of proper waste reduction and responsible, socially sustainable electronics recycling.

 Items for Recycling Include:  Computers, laptops, cell phones, video devices, televisions, audio equipment, servers, UPS systems and batteries, network equipment, telephone equipment, accessories, and new or used toner and ink cartridges.       

A 10% off coupon good for any one item purchased at the Goodwill Electronics Store will be provided to customers who donate electronic equipment and/or participate in e-recycling or data security services. The 10% off coupon is valid through November 24, 2021.

Goodwill San Antonio is the only certified R2 electronics recycler in San Antonio offering public drop-offs of equipment. E-recycling and data security services are available year round through the Goodwill San Antonio Electronics store for a fee.

Goodwill San Antonio’s Electronic Recycling program accepts both commercial and residential donations of computers and related devices, and safely and responsibly refurbishes equipment with a goal of placing as many devices back into the community as possible. The program also provides certified IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) services to help companies manage their data securely. This includes performing HDD sanitization and shredding services to meet compliance needs with the ability to track devices from the moment they leave an organization’s facility to final disposition. The R2 certified program adheres to the highest industry standards for worker health & safety, environmental responsibility, and data security.

In 2020, Goodwill San Antonio provided nearly 1,000 computers/laptops back into the community to support virtual learning needs during the peak of the pandemic.
